Gearbox synchronising clutch ring - has expander bodies in guide ring acting against inside of synchronising ring

The synchronising equipment for motor vehicle gearboxes, has a split spring synchronising ring subjected to the action of devices increasing the servo effect and between the ring and the dog clutch body of the gear to be engaged. These devices are formed by a closed guide ring (12) with expander bodies (10) in it, and supported in recesses (8) in the dog clutch hub (5). On operation of the synchronising equipment these exert a radial expansion force on the inside of the synchronising ring (6). A boss (15) is formed on the guide ring, extending between the ends (13, 14) of the synchronising ring.
