Vibration damping for rear drive axle - has elastically mounted masses on constant velocity joints
摘要

The rear driven axle has both half shafts fitted with constant velocity joints for a secure torque transfer. The joints are fitted with inertial masses (22) on the outsides, coupled to the joints by elastic layers (23) to dampen out axle vibrations. The size of the masses and the elasticity of the mountings are chosen to dampen out the resonant peaks of the half shafts, esp. on overrun.
