The grinding machine is esp. used for the grinding of ball bearing cages. The machine incorporates at least one work station which has a spindle supported in bearings which rotates the workpiece by friction. The workpiece carrier (24) has at least two cylindrical support studs (28) on which the workpieces (20) are mounted. The supports are equi spaced around the carrier, the centre lines of the supports are parallel to the centreline of the carrier. The support studs have channels for hydraulic fluids so that the workpieces are hydrostatically supported axially and radially.
