<p>An anti-theft device for autos utilizing a steering wheel 3 that can be separated from a steering shaft 1 and returned to a working position when desired. The device includes an intermediate part 2 permanently connected to the steering shaft and has grooves or ribs 9, 10 mating with a central steering wheel part 2. The interconnection mechanism can be altered so that each intermediate part and steering wheel form a different mating configuration. The anti-theft device also has light signals to register the absence of the steering wheel and electrical contacts capable of acting on control signals and/or other automobile operation mechanisms to signal proper connection between the intermediate part and the steering wheel. <IMAGE></p> |
