The method and device are for synchronisation of master plate and slave plate printer mechanisms are designed to reduce losses and errors involved in opration in and between two positions. The system produces patterns on each slave length of a moving carrier band. A guide mark is placed at the same relative position of all slave lengths for automatic positioning and for synchronised, triggering of a series of local marker signals is next operating point. A series of local marker signals is produced synchronously with the single operating point operating processes. Coincidence conditions at each operating point are monitored and controlled to maintain a desired phase relation between alignment, control signals and locally produced marker signals.
