1528722 Coal gasification KRAFTWERK UNION AG 16 Feb 1977 [6 March 1976] 06562/77 Heading C5E Apparatus for treating coal comprises a hydrogenation gasifier for the coal followed by a steam gasifier for the coal, the steam gasifier being provided with steam supply means, with oxygen supply means, and with gas outlet means for the gases produced in use, the coal treating apparatus further comprising gas processing means for removing at least hydrogen from the gases produced in the steam gasifier, such means being connected to supply the removed hydrogen to the hydrogenation gasifier for hydrogenation of the coal therein, there being provided between the hydrogenation gasifier and the steam gasifier a pressure air lock which prevents the passage of gases from the steam gasifier into the hydrogenation gasifier but is constructed to allow coal to pass from the hydrogenation gasifier to the steam gasifier, the gas outlet means comprising a gas conduit leading from the steam gasifier to a heat exchanger which is connected in said steam supply means so as to use to provide heat exchange as between the gases and steam respectively supplied to the heat exchanger by the gas conduit and by the steam supply means. |
