摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the strength of an active material and reduce its aging time when the active material is applied to a substrate and aged by performing the process under the atmosphere where CO2 exceeding its specified quantity is contained. CONSTITUTION:When a lead acid battery plate is formed through a process where an active material is applied to a substrate, and its aging and formation processes, the aging process is executed by containing dry ice or carbonic acid solution in the aging chamber, evaporating it, and forming the atmosphere where CO2 exceeding 10% is contained. Thus, H2O forms a catalyst by the existence of CO2 and PbCO2 is generated on the surface of a filling plate. The crystals are firmly coupled mutually and the active material becomes tight. As a result, the strength of the active material is increased remarkably and the active material can be prevented from slipping off. Besides, the aging time is reduced sharply and workability can be improved.
