<p>The tile press has a rotary turntable (111) which is stepped round past mould cleaning, charging, compacting, adding a second charge, surplus material removal, pressing and discharge stations. At the discharge station is a mechanism which removes the double layer charge (M2o) from under the lifting head (151) and conveys it outwards to a take off conveyor alongside. There is a reciprocating mould carrier plate (121Y) moving on slides (131) and a vertically operating platform (141) underneath operated by a piston and cylinder system (139A) in the base. Above is a frame (117) which lifts the moulds, mounted around the lifting head. This carries a sensing rod (161) which controls its vertical position. This operates in conjunction with a photoelectric position monitoring system.</p> |
