1392284 Stabilized peroxides UNILEVER Ltd 29 March 1972 [30 March 1971] 8131/71 Heading C1A [Also in Divisions C5 and D1] Active oxygen releasing compounds are stabilized to reduce their decomposition in bleaching liquors, by admixture with a stabilizing compound of Formula I wherein M denotes H, alkali or alkaline earth metal ion, or ammonium or C 1 -C 4 alkyl substituted ammonium ion. The stabilizing compound may be present in an amount of 0À25 to 5% by weight of the active oxygen releasing compound. The latter may be organic, e.g. benzoyl peroxide, peracetic acid and its salts, or inorganic, e.g. alkali and alkaline earth metal peroxides, hydrogen peroxide, alkali metal perborates, percarbonates, persulphates and perphosphates. The compounds are preferably formulated with a surfactant as a detergent composition for cleaning textiles. |
