Skew rolling mill for mfg. spherical balls - using two work rolls, each with a helical groove rolling the balls

Skew rolling mill for mfg. spherical objects, e.g. balls, uses a stand contg. two drums with a common, horizontal swivel axis(a). Each drum contains a roll with a helical groove on its periphery; and each groove has a zone(b) with a changing profile, and a zone(c) with a constant profile. Thrust screws are used to adjust the angles of the two drums on axis(a), which is displaced w.r.t. the middle of the roll axes so it intersects zone(c), and pref. the middle of zone(c). In the rolling of balls, the inlet angle of the rolls can be altered while avoiding excessive wear and friction on the rolls so the life of the latter is increased.
