The metal framed module (2) is of triangular outline in vertical cross section and is for use in the construction of raised platforms e.g. theatrical stages. Each module comprises two identical parallel end frames with perpendicular tubular longerons joining the pieces. The longerons oversail the end frames to terminate in socket-forming open ends. A platform is formed by placing modules staggered in parallel rows and installing connecting (12, 13, 14) tubes. Modules may also be used in combination to form a hexagonal framed column. In an assembled platform-support frame each module locates with one longeron on the ground and the remaining two aligning in a horizontal plane above. Three types of connecting tubes may be deployed, one (12) straight and used longitudinally, and the others (13, 14) have perpendicular spigots at each end, and the former (12) are installed with double dowel pieces. The dowel pieces may include plates (16) supporting standard floor boards (6).
