Flashback-resistant autogenous torch

The autogenous torch has a handle in which a welding insert is releasably inserted. The gases fed by the regulating valves are mixed in a first injector stage of the torch to form a combustible gas mixture. The torch has a second injector stage through which gas flows and which consists of an injector part (6) and a nozzle element (8) projecting coaxially into a recess (40) of the injector part (6). A conical space (40') limited by the nozzle head (39) and tapering to the front is arranged in this recess (40) and is connected to the external air in such a way that a vacuum is produced by the flowing gas and external air is drawn in. This autogenous torch working according to the injector principle is very reliable in operation and under all circumstances prevents the backflow of the oxygen into the fuel-gas line, even if the torch orifice is clogged. No combustible gas mixtures can form in the hoses, which would lead to flashbacks or to explosions. <IMAGE>
