Spreading and/or dispersion process for bacterial cultures - on a flat nutritive medium surface, where container is rotated to provide radial deposition path

Distribution process for a microbial culture or a nutritive medium is described, in which the container holding the medium is rotated as the culture is deposited along a radial path. Appts. comprises a support for receiving a dish of nutrient agar and a variable-speed motor to rotate it around its axis. The operator deposits the culture(s) undergoing examination along a path which is radial w.r.t. this axis. The whole assembly is maintained in a sterile environment to ensure asepsis of the different components during each analytical operation. The process is applicable to all pathological sampling partic. in dealing with excrements in which various bacterial strains are mixed and it is desired to isolate the pathogenic source. It can be mechanised and time is saved in attaining a given degrees of isolation.
