Moisture proof cold store sandwich element - has sealing collar on connecting bar anchored in concrete shells

The sandwich building element is esp. suitable for use in cold stores or ice silos. It comprises two concrete shells interconnected by an anchoring system, and at least one layer of insulating material and a moisture barrier, such as plastic layer or foil, between the shells. The anchoring system comprises one or more bars or tubes (14), with ends anchored in the concrete shells (4, 6). This carries a close-fitting collar (16), in the plane of the moisture barrier (10), cemented or welded to this barrier. The bar or tube may be cast into one or both concrete shells, and fitted with an anchoring profiling or cross bolt at the cast end, thus a completely effective moisture barrier is attained.
