Coal cutting machine to take=off conveyor connection - includes chain and rectangular linkage with pivot joints and alignment cylinders

The connection between a coal cutting machine mounted on crawler tracks and the belt conveyor (11) behind it, includes an adjustment to compensate for misalignment of the conveyor which passes the cut material from the cutting face to the conveyor behind. This conveyor has a beam (12) mounted across its frame, behind the return roller (25) of the belt conveyor. This is attached by two longitudinal members (13, 14) to a parallel cross beam (10) with a chain (8) attached to each end, securing it to a cross member (28) attached to the chassis of the mining machine. The two pairs of parallel beams (10, 12, 13, 14) form a quadrilateral, with pivots at the corners. In one design the two longitudinals (13, 14) are telescopic cylinders. In a second design there is a small cylinder between the frame cross member (10) and the machine cross member (28) at one end of the chain.
