The sound-absorbing noise screen embankment is made up from prefabricated concrete components comprising a series of paired parallel elongated slabs supported on two double-level arches, partially enclosing an earth filling with vegetation on it. The two-level arches are made up from a number of superimposed support arches (2), with span width (a) decreasing from bottom to top. Pairs of elongated slabs (3) are fitted horizontally between these. One pair of slabs is pref. screwed (4), or otherwise detachably fastened, on each of the superimposed support arches. A water pipe duct (5) with water outlet openings (7) can be laid in the noise screen unit (1), parallel to its longitudinal axis. This involves only a small number of safe and easily handled components which are eventually virtually concealed.
