The rapid foot changer for multi spindle drilling heads uses an insertable positioning housing and an adjustment nut supported against the spindle head. The nut has a rising flank around its attachment part, and on this flank radial retainer balls act. The balls are controlled by a tension housing activated by a spring, the housing being arranged directly on the spindle head. A rotating spring engaging in the tension housing produces an effective connection with the spindle head. In an inner recess of the tension housing is an axially displaceable ball cage.
