The telephone exchange has a central control which counts the number of the central control engagements. It counts the number of its disconnections after the connection time limiting becomes operative. The central control monitors all telephone calls. The number of connection time limiting operations occurring in series is measured separately, using two counters of which the first counts all time limiting operations carried out after the first, provided they occur after the preceding limitation not later than a specified period. The second counter counts the number of series.
