1528006 Scoring and creasing OWENSILLINOIS Inc 21 Oct 1975 [22 Nov 1974] 43167/76 Divided out of 1528004 Heading B6J [Also in Division B8] A thermoplastic web is scored along the length of the web, and creased transversely of the web. The scoring apparatus is shown in Figs. 15 and 16, the web being pulled over a resiliently surfaced idler roll 56 past a knife 68 adjustably mounted in block 69. The block is adjustable along keyway 70 by set screws 76, 77 and is resiliently urged against the roll by springs 79. The blade is adjustable axially of the roll by screws 81 in slots 82. The roll is grooved at 67 opposite the blade. Creasing apparatus is shown in Fig. 13, comprising a driven roll 106 having two protruding creasing blades 117 and a resiliently surfaced idler roll 107, whereby pairs of creases are formed in the web. The surface of roll 106 is recessed either side of each blade. The two blades may be at a greater circumferential spacing. |
