1528419 Microcapsules TAKEDA YAKUHIN KOGYO KK 17 Aug 1976 [18 Aug 1975] 34193/76 Heading B8C A method of producing a micro-encapsulated product comprises (a) dissolving an oil-and-fat which is solid at room temperature in an organic solvent by heating, the organic solvent being incapable of dissolving a core material to be encapsulated but capable of dissolving the oil-andfat when hot and capable of co-acervating the oil and fat when cold; (b) dispersing the core material in the resulting solution; (c) cooling the dispersion with stirring to co-acervate the oil-and-fat on the core material; and (d) recovering and drying the encapsulated particulate product. The oil-and-fat is suitably a hydrogenated oil-and-fat, solid fat or a synthetic solid glyceride. The core material may be a feed additive, medicine, agricultural chemical or food additive. A polymer such as a cellulose derivative or an acrylic copolymer, may be dissolved with the oil-and-fat in the organic solvent as in step (a). The product of step (d) may be mixed with a powdery hydrophilic carrier, e.g. magnesium stearate, aluminium stearate or talc, heated and then cooled. |
