<p>The Specification describes Redox Accelerator Systems for use in the polymerisation of ethylenically unsaturated monomer compositions comprising, as the reducing component, the addition or condensation product of the reaction of an aliphatic or aromatic-aliphatic tertiary amine, at least one of the aliphatic or aromatic-aliphatic groups thereof being substituted by at least one hydroxyl group, with a ????, a compound containing a carbon-carbon double bond, a compound containing an epoxy group, an isocyanate or a carboxylic acid or acid chloride or anhydrite thereof. The use of the above-described accelerator systems provides monomer compositions which have a relatively long pot life but which subsequently polymerise rapidly and completely. The accelerator system are particularly useful for the polymerisation of monomer compositions containing an inorganic filler, e.g. for the production of road coverings etc.</p> |
