PROCESS FOR PRODUCING POSITIVE COLOR DIFFUSION TRANSFER IMAGES of the Invention Positive, color diffusion transfer images are produced employing light-sensitive photographic elements containing a dye-releasing redox agent. The dye-releasing redox agent may be a sulfonamido compound or a hydroquinone derivative which is capable of cleaving to release a diffusible color-providing moiety. A preferred process involves the use of black-and-white developers and comprises (1) treating the exposed photographic element with a non-cross-oxidizing black-and-white developing composition, (2) fogging the residual silver halide, (3) treating the element with a cross-oxidizing black-and-white developing composition to release a color-providing compound, and (4) at least a portion of the diffusible color-providing compound diffusing to a dye image-receiving layer.
