A solar collector comprising a U-shaped absorber which is sealed in an evacuated cover tube which is provided with a semi-cylindrical reflector on the inner side. The central plane of the U-shaped absorber, extending through the centre lines of the legs of the U-tube is arranged in the symmetry plane of the reflector between the cover tube axis and the said reflector.
