An oscillating toothed sector rotates the toothed wheel for driving the weft insertion clamp in a shuttleless loom; the toothed wheel engaging in slots in a flexible strip carrying the clamp. The toothed sector has, along its bisecting line, a coupling with a slide block in a slide frame, hinged on the one hand to the foot of a connecting rod driven by a crank on a shaft following the cycle of the loom, and on the other to the pivot of a rocking lever which follows the oscillation of the toothed sector. The distance of the point of oscillation of the rocking lever relatively to that of the toothed sector is variable; the point of oscillation of the rocking lever being formed by the eccentric portion of a shaft, the angular position of which is itself variable. Used to ensure that when the clamps meet at the centre of the shed, the weft is transferred correctly from the one to the other. At the same time, the distance to which the weft clamp is withdrawn from the reed is reduced. The mechanism can be fitted to looms of all widths.
|
