1442761 Cinefilm apparatus MARCONI CO Ltd 12 Oct 1973 [27 Feb 1973] 9664/73 Heading G2E A film projector comprises a pivotally mounted arm 32 (of which only the film abutting portion is shown) for forming a first loop 33 of excess magnitude in a film 1 on one side of a projection gate 3, means e.g. pinch rollers 6, 7 for preventing movement of the film at a predetermined distance from the gate on the opposite side to the first loop, and means for transferring excess film from the first loop 33, through the gate 3, to form a second loop 34. In operation initially the gate 3 is open and rollers 6, 7 are separated. Arm 32 is pivoted to form a loop containing as much film as both final loops 33, 34. Simultaneously rollers 9, 10 are pivoted to engage the film and form a damping loop. Roller 7 then moves vertically and co-operates with roller 6 to pinch the film. A film transport 5 moves the film through the gate to form the two loops. |
