<p>The hand-tool with two inter-articulating hand-levers is for cutting metal band e.g. that used to secure packages. The levers move towards one another to effect the cut, and a system of pin-jointed links (13, 16, 17) transmits movement to the movable cutter (11). The primary hand-lever projects horizontally from an 'L' shaped head (7) the fixed cutter (2) being mounted towards the extremity of the L-bar. The movable cutter (11) is mounted on the free end of an obtuse 'V' shaped lever (13) with an intermediate fulcrum (9) locating towards the base of the stem of the 'L' (7). The secondary hand-lever is pinned to the top (14) of the stem and cantilevers (16) shortly beyond this fulcrum. A pin-jointed (18, 19) strap (17) unites the ends of the secondary lever and the movable cutter-support (13).</p> |
