The pilot-line allows cables to be introduced into existing conduits and pipes which may be buried in walls, etc., without the need to open up sections of the conduit with the consequent risk of damage. The pilot-line made of a heavy gauge nylon thread capable of hauling cable is led through the conduit system by a small float or piston which is blown along its length by a compressed air source. The air-tube which also carries the line is connected into the conduit by a tapered end section and can include a lubricants source via a pressure control valve.
