The stringing for a tennis racquet is reinforced by additional cords around the vertical (M1 to M4) and horizontal (T1 to T4) strings. These standard strings are interlaced at right angles to form crossover points (P1, P2) being alternately over and under. The additional cords are twisted around the strings in helical fashion, passing alternately over and under the existing crossover points. This provides one extra thickness if only the horizontal (t1 to t4) or vertical (m1 to m4) strings are used, and two extra thickness if both strings have cords twisted around them.
|
