Each disc is made up of two identical halves. Each half disc (2) and (3) is fitted with a slot (5) to allow the disc to be slipped over the cable (1). The half discs are arranged so that the slot are diametrically opposed to each other. The discs are brought close together on the cable so as to form a combined disc and are welded to the cable in position on both outside edges. The discs may also be fixed to the cable by suitable adhesive.
