<p>A layer of agglomerated material is formed on the inner surface of a rotating agglomeration drum. The formation of this layer is favoured by attaching elements to the surface of the drum. These elements are like washers that have been pushed in at the centre so that the outer rim of the washer is higher than the rim of the inner hole. The inner rim is spot-welded in places to the surface of the drum. The hollow or groove formed by the saucer shaped elements allows the material to pass and eventually form an agglomerated layer over the elements. Used to agglomerate fine particle materials into balls or pellets, e.g. coal, carbon black and other minerals. The separate elements are less cumbersome than the ribbed, meshed, etc. elements used at present. They facilitate the formation of different patterns.</p> |
