The machine has a frame (10) on which bearing housings (19) and a gearbox (14) are mounted. A sprocket (21) is mounted at each end of a shaft (18) each sprocket driving one tool carrying shaft via a chain (24). Member (11) carries front and rear brackets at each end between which quadrants (34) are secured. Two shafts (30) are carried between the quadrant and secured to them at a desired, adjustable, spacing. Each shaft (30) carries a sprocket (25) and tool carrying shaft (27) on bearings. The shafts (27) carry soil working tools (28), the tools on one shaft being staggered laterally relative to the tools on the other.
