1423265 Isolating orgotein-rich protein from blood DIAGNOSTIC DATA Inc 17 April 1973 [19 July 1972] 18570/73 Heading C3H A process for the production of an orgoteinrich protein concentrate substantially free of haemoglobin and carbonic anhydrase from red blood cells which comprises heating at least the red blood cell portion of blood at a pH of from 5 to 8 at which the haemoglobin precipitates and at a temperature of 60-80‹ C.; separating the precipitated proteins from the heated mixture and separating an orgotein-rich concentrate from the supernatant. The orgotein-rich concentrate may be separated from the supernatant by precipitation at 0-5‹ C. with acetone, by lyophilization or by ultrafiltration. |
