<p>The pivot joint is partic. for use in artificial limbs, and comprises connector pieces securing the parts of the prosthesis, joined by a pivot bolt with an internal lubrication system. For fitting in the foot and elg prosthesis, the joint has equal cylindrical seat faces (4, 5), together forming almost a complete cylinder surface of radius R. The lowr and upper bodies (1, 2) each have two or more eyes (10, 11) forming sections of a cylinder of radius r, and fitting over the pivot bolt (3) so that the eyes are accommodated in the recesses in the opposite bodies. The radius r of the outer cylindrical faces of the eyes is smaller than that of the cylindrical recesses rl in the bodies, this radius rl being in turn smaller than that of the seat faces R.</p> |
