Dual-action slide ring seal comprises a main seal and a closed subsidiary seal which is lubricated by a liq. supplied from a container. The space between both slide ring seals is partitioned by a throttle. That space nearest the main seal is connected via a (pipe)line with the gas-filled part of the container whilst the liq.-filled part of the same is connected via and inlet and a return line with a space nearest the subsidiary seal. Upstream of the throttle there is an annular disc of PTFE, with elastically adjustable flange.
