The vehicle throttle control has a master servo operated by the foot pedal and a comparator circuit to set the throttle w.r.t. the vehicle speed and indicated setting. Only simple electric connections are required between the foot control and the throttle so that the system is suitable for large and heavy vehicles. With the comparator linked to the engine speed, the throttle setting maintains a constant road speed over a wide range of conditions. Cold start and other variations are easily included in the circuit by electric controls.
