Reduction of axial play in cassette player drive - uses spring clamp bearing with small radial thrust

The simple mechanism is for reducing the axial play in a vertically mounted tape cassette player mechanism in which a small radial thrust is applied to the drive shaft using a spring bearing. The cassette player drive motor (1) drives a shaft (10) with a fixed bearing (11) at one end and a spring (43) clamp bearing (44) at the other. This connects with the shaft (10) when the chassis (4) carrying the vertically mounted cassette (2) is pushed home on to the cassette hub shaft (6). By shaping the drive shaft end (110a) and clamp bearing suitably, a small radial pressure can be exerted on the drive shaft which reduces axial play.
