<p>1527469 Labelling machine PRONTOPHOT HOLDING AG 11 May 1977 [2 June 1976] 19716/77 Heading B8F [Also in Division B4] A labelling machine comprises a tape reel (7), feed rollers 3 and 4 rotatable in opposite directions to draw a pre-determined length of tape from the reel (7), a transfer roller 10 for transferring a label consisting of said length of tape to an article (16), said transfer roller having flat areas 25 uniformly spaced around its periphery and being provided with cutting edges 27, a pivotally mounted arm 12 provided with a counter-cutter 13 and drivable whereby the counter-cutter 13 co-operates with a cutting edge 27 to sever the tape 5, and means for temporarily holding the severed length of tape on the transfer roller 10. The counter-cutter 13 may be secured by screws 41 to a holder 42 which is pivotally mounted at 43 on the arm 12. A rod 44 secured to the holder 42 is pressed against an adjustable stop screw 46 by a spring 45 so that the counter-cutter can pivot upwardly against the action of the spring 45. The severed lengths of tape are held on the transfer roller 10 by suction applied to bores 31 while the said lengths are moved past an adhesive applying device (14) to an article (16) on a turntable (15), Fig. 1 (not shown). The tape may be printed by a device (8) and may have a backing 22 removed therefrom by drawing the backing around the edge of a wedge 21.</p> |
