1527656 Cedar resin compositions for treating asthma R M MORA 31 March 1976 12869/76 Heading A5B Aqueous pharmaceutical compositions for oral administration to treat allergenic asthma in human beings comprise, as the only pharmacologically active ingredient, 35-50 gms of cedar resin obtained from Cedrela odorata (Spanish Cedar) per litre of the composition. The composition may also contain preservatives (e.g. methyl-paraben and propyl paraben) sucrose, and colouring and flavouring materials. The resin is said to be a polysaccharide containing carboxyl groups, having about 40% carbon, 50% oxygen and 6% hydrogen in the molecule, with the remainder being nitrogen, phosphorus, Ca, Mg, Na, K and traces of boron, copper, iron, strontium and silicon.
