PURPOSE:To obtain a germicidal composition, consisting essentially of a di 8-10C alkyldimethylammonium salt and biguanide compound and containing further a specific nonionic surfactant and capable of exhibiting a wide antimicrobial spectrum and showing excellent effects even on fungi. CONSTITUTION:A germicidal composition, consisting essentially of a di 8-10C alkyldimethylammonium salt expressed by the formula (R1 and R2 are octyl or decyl; X<-> is anionic counter ion), such as didecyldimethylammonium chloride, and a biguanide compound, such as polyhexamethylene biguanide compound, and containing at least one nonionic surfactant selected from polyoxyethylene alkyl ethers, polyoxyethylene polyoxypropylene block copolymers and alkyldimethylamine oxides and formulated in the form of a 2-50wt.% aqueous solution. The composition is used for sterilizing and cleaning floors or walls of hospitals, food factories, barns, hotels, etc. |
