<p>PURPOSE:To have a small-sized ignition coil with easiness in installation work and requiring small installation space by making a waterproof cap in an L-form substantially, and holding the ignition coil body in the direction right across the axis of ignition plug. CONSTITUTION:An ignition coil 1 of plug direct coupling type is constructed approx. in an L-form to the ignition coil body 2 having a high-voltage lead 21 and has a mounting part 31 at one end for an ignition plug 5, and on the other end a waterproof cap 3 having a holding part 32, which holds the coil body 2 in the direction right across the axis of the plug 5. As the coil body 2 is held in the direction right across the axis of plug 5, the dimension H at the time of fitting is small to allow easy installation even in the case with small space for installation, and electrical contact of a terminal 51 with a terminal body 42 can be held securely at all times even though vibrations in the directions up and down, right and left, and fore and after are applied resulting from vibration of the engine concerned.</p> |
