PURPOSE: To prevent damages of a ceramic pivot rod insert and a mounting shaft even under a manufacture difference by regulating thickness and materials of sleeve circumferential wall without exceeding the maximum tensile principle stress of the ceramic material. CONSTITUTION: A pivot rod 1 is composed of a mounting shaft 5 made of standard steel or cast steel, an attachment sleeve 10 made of standard pipe materials, and a pivot rod insert 15 made of ceramics. The attachment sleeve 10, end 5a of the mounting shaft 5 and 15a of the pivot rod insert 15 are interconnected and fixed each other in a end-to-end abutting fashion. The thickness and materials of the attachment sleeve 10 are so selected that they do not exceed the maximum tensile principle stress of ceramics of the pivot rod insert 15 during creation of the interference fit securement. By this manner, even there is an unbalance in the radial fit with the circumferential wall of the installation sleeve 10, the pivot rod insert part 15 and the installation shaft 5 are not damaged. |
