<p>The lightweight building block of rectangular form has an interior wall between opposed side walls, parallel to the end walls and forming vertical passage of rectangular section. Projections are arranged on the upper block surfaces and formed into patterns which are identical with each passage. The lower surfaces of the block are shaped to form recesses corresponding to and directly below the projections, to permit the interlocking of the blocks. The vertical passages and horizontal channels may receive reinforcement to inpart strength and load bearing properties to the wall. The lightweight building block can be formed into a wall without mortar by unskilled workers. The variable degree of reinforcement added can be arranged to suit the partic. use of the block in a building wall.</p> |
