The pipe has two longitudinal rows of triangular holes (4) about a double channel (8) region and is for use in distributing effluent to the subsoil. The pipe may be enlarged at one end to form a socket (2) receiving the spigot-end of a discharge pie. The pipe (1) may have a circular section with an internal elevated and longitudinal ridge (7) defining the two channels (8). The two lines of holes (4) are parallel to the longitudinal axis of the pipe and are set symmetrically about the ridge (7). The individual holes (4) may have the configuration of equilateral triangles with one side (5) set parallel with and just below the longitudinal axis (B, B') of the pipe, and the apices (6) below at the level of the dividing ridge (7).
