In the apparatus the stack of accordion folds (10), in each of which a support member (11) is placed on only one side of the membrane, is placed between two parallel rigid plates (12, 13) attached rigidly to one another while a determined load, uniformly distributed by virtue of two platens (14, 15) of a press, is maintained on the stack. Three connecting rods (17, 18, 19) are attached between the plates (12, 13) which are connected internally to all the folds. Apparatuses of uniform performance despite the possible irregularities of thickness of the membrane or of the support members are thus obtained in series.
