Vehicle pneumatic spring and vibration damper - has external and internal flexible envelopes for spring and damper chambers

The pneumatic spring for vehicle suspension has air filled bellows whose ends rest on components to be supported. The pneumatic spring has also a vibration damper. The bellows (1) has an air chamber (6) between flexible external (4) and internal (5) envelopes. A damping chamber (7) is enclosed by the internal envelope. The external envelope has a fabric reinforcement (8) which ensures that this envelope can be extended in a radial direction to a smaller extent than the internal envelope. The spring chamber has an approximately elliptical cross section in the vertical plane.
