Aq. alkyd or aminoplast coating compsn. - contg. amine oxide surfactant, giving hard, water-resistant coatings

Aq. dispersions of resins for coatings and lacquer binders contain (a) alkyd resins and/or aminoplast resins which can still be cross-linked and (b) a surfactant contg. is not 1 amine oxide gp.. The coatings are less sensitive to water and have improved hardness. Even in absence of auxiliary organic solvents, the dispersions show no max. in the dilution curve. The coatings can be used on various substrates, e.g. glass or metals.
