The wood-boring drill has a guide or conveyor screw at its open end, drawing the drill into the wood during drilling and making it self-guiding. It incorporates a grooved shaft (12) with one or more cutting lips (16, 17), and an axially mounted guide or conveyor screw (18) which is detachably fastened to the shaft. - This screw can have a threaded drilling piece (26) and a shaft piece (24). The shaft part is firmly but detachably fastened into an axially aligned recess (22) opening out into the open end of the drill shaft.
