The thrust support for pipe joints has a clamping ring on the tapered part of joint. A holding ring engages with the socket flange. Two split clip connectors are used and these have fastening flanges connecting the clamping and holding rings. The fastening flange (7) is provided with holes (10) only in the region of the clamping ring for connection bolts (8). The clip segments (5) have radial lugs (14) held by radial hooking lugs (15) on the adjacent ends of segments. The segments are readily connected by axial movement when the lugs engage.
