A safety top for a plastics container with an externally threaded neck for a screw cap has a breakable seal between the container and the cap with a tear off tooth with at least one incision to simplify removal. The seal may be ring shaped. It is retained in a given position by a projection on the container which fits into a suitable opening in the seal. The tooth has a straight flank and a sloping flank, the sloping side extending towards the screw threads from the plane of the seal towards the straight side. The underside of the screw cap has two teeth, one diametrically opposite the other. |
