The injection-type internal combustion engine incorporates a planetary gear train acting both as a driving and as a driven unit, and entirely as a power train in the downwards direction. The oscillating forces from the lightweight piston are used to compress air both above and below it, thus reducing oscillating power losses. A hydraulic transmission is used in addition to the planetary one, giving better use of the energy in the fuel.
